James Kopp most recently serves as vice president of institutional advancement at the Edmundite Missions, the flagship provider of educational, workforce development, nutrition, family resiliency and advocacy services for the rural poor in the Black Belt counties of the Deep South. Jim has served as a senior advancement officer for more than 25 years, beginning his career as a dean and vice president of both state and private colleges in New England and the Midwest. As the chief development officer for the Diocese of Albany, Jim developed the first integrated diocesan advancement program in the United States that would then serve as an operational model for dioceses and archdioceses across the nation. As a senior managing director and vice president for two international consultancy firms, Jim managed teams that provided counsel to nonprofit organizations in the development of 8 and 9 figure capital campaigns to include the United Nations, Sesame Street and World Animal Protection. Jim also served as chief advancement officer for President Obama’s commission charged with the resource mobilization program to build the World War One Memorial on the National Mall. He is a frequent presenter and keynote speaker at national and international philanthropy conferences and has served as senior grant reviewer for the United States Department of Education, the Department of Justice and the NCAA.
