John Gennetti has a diverse management background in the for-profit and non-profit worlds of philanthropy, advancement, sales, and social work. Through his client-centered approach he has built lasting relationships, connecting organizations and donors with an affinity for a shared mission.
John brings a wealth of experience from a variety of settings, creating and expanding philanthropy departments. He trains teams on stewardship and cultivating relationships with potential donors, and soliciting support for major gifts and annual appeals.
As Executive Director of Philanthropy at St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua, NH, John created the hospital’s first Planned Giving Society and first ever endowed funds, and built a new Grateful Patient program and employee appeal program.
John spent 14 years at Saint Anselm College. Under his leadership, corporate fundraising expanded dramatically, resulting in a major source of income for scholarship aid and creating long term corporate relationships with the college. He created major gift strategies for a $65M capital campaign and mentored teams on best practices for planned giving and annual funds.
John earned his Master of Social Work degree from Marywood University and his Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from Upsala College.
He has over 30 years of board leadership experience supporting diverse causes including veteran services, crisis pregnancy centers, health and social services, and education. Currently, he is the immediate past chair and board member at Bellwether Community Credit Union in NH, board member of Parable Catholic Magazine for the Diocese of Manchester, New Hampshire, and member of the Foundation Board for Pine Haven Boys School in NH.
John and his wife Janice reside in Bow, New Hampshire and have two grown children.
