Ruotolo Associates Inc. (RA) has had the privilege of partnering with SUNY New Paltz (New Paltz, NY) since 2012. Our broad range of initiatives began with an institutional advancement assessment and feasibility study. Based on our recommendations to build a culture and practice of philanthropy first, the SUNY New Paltz Foundation embarked upon an intentional and comprehensive approach guiding both internal practices and external relationship building.
RA’s services to New Paltz included:
- Foundation Board Self-Assessment utilizing a seven-year longitudinal study of comparative data
- Annual staff retreat including goal setting, practical strategies, and staff mentoring to create and guide a comprehensive advancement plan
- Establishment of engagement of leadership volunteers in advancement through recruitment of a Steering Committee as a prelude to a campaign cabinet
- Capital campaign counsel including case statement development to engage interest and engender support for a donor-centered program
On July 1, 2021, SUNY New Paltz announced the successful completion of Soaring Higher – The Campaign for SUNY New Paltz, the first-ever comprehensive campaign in the College’s history. SUNY New Paltz Foundation was able to exceed the original goal of $23 million – raising a total of $24.6 million in campaign support as of June 30, 2021.
