Since 1959, Cardinal Mooney Catholic High School has been serving Sarasota, Manatee, and Charlotte counties as the only Catholic high school in the area.  We strive to embrace the whole person while recognizing their unique talents and strengths. Cardinal Mooney is a thriving and growing Catholic high school with approximately 680 students in grades 9-12. Our college preparatory curriculum challenges our students to pursue academic excellence.

Purpose and Scope of the Position

The Director of Enrollment Management reports directly to the Principal and is responsible for the strategic direction and plan implementation for each element of the freshman and transfer life cycle, from inquiry generation through onboarding. In collaboration with the Principal and School Advisory Board, the Director of Enrollment Management will also leverage innovative solutions and technological resources in conjunction with traditional recruitment methods to develop, implement, and evaluate the school’s student recruitment and enrollment strategy. This responsibility includes marketing and advertising strategies, forging relationships with future students and families, as well as with leaders at local feeder schools.

Specific Responsibilities

Recruitment

  • Sustains and strengthens Cardinal Mooney’s mission and Catholic education’s philosophy.
  • Directs the admissions process from the point of inquiry through enrollment.
  • Partners with internal and external constituencies (i.e. faculty, administration, advancement, bursar, parents, parishioners, elementary/middle school principals, coaches, counselors, etc.) to maximize and execute year-round recruitment/retention strategy and seek new opportunities.
  • Develop and execute the logistics of all admissions events and visit experiences (i.e. Open Houses, Orientation, Entrance Exam, Tours, Cougar Experience Days, etc.) to elevate the campus visit experience.
  • Understands the rights and expectations of families regarding the privacy of personal information submitted through the application process and maintains confidentiality of such information
  • Develops and implements recruitment strategy training for School Board members, Administrative Council, and other leadership volunteers.
  • Oversees, manages, and is responsible for supervising all personnel (i.e., volunteer parent, student, intern, alumni) assigned to assist with student enrollment functions.

 

 

Communications

  • Develop pragmatic, engaging, and ongoing communication and publication plan throughout the applicant lifecycle to maintain a strong customer service orientation with timely responses to inquiries and questions.
  • Participates with the Principal, the Marketing/Communications Manager, and the School Board to develop the messaging and design of the School’s internal and external marketing and brand campaign reflective of the mission of Cardinal Mooney thus engaging all aspects of the admissions student life cycle (i.e. email/web design, print literature, promotional materials, and advertising campaigns).
  • Establishes relationships with pastors, parish staff, and parish communities in the Deanery.
  • Promotes good relationships and creates networking opportunities and support for representatives with outside institutions or groups that can be helpful in attracting quality students.

 

Enrollment Management

  • Design and implement the annual Enrollment Management Plan, which aligns measurable enrollment goals including (not limited to) enrollment projections (including transfers), recruitment, financial aid, retention, and admissions operations.
  • Present the school to prospective students and parents, which includes systematic and efficient handling of applications and communication with candidates and their parents; tours of the institution; interviews with candidates and their parents; arrangement for admission testing; securing of necessary student credentials; and communicating final decisions to the appropriate individuals.

 

Data Administration

  • Capture year-round enrollment data reflecting to all aspects of the student life cycle and present reports/statistical summaries with analysis to direct report and School Advisory Board.
  • Monitors student academic placement and retention, particularly in the freshman class.
  • Maintains a record of students leaving Mooney, conducts “exit interviews” with departing students and families and organizes data regarding trends in student retention and reasons for student withdrawals.
  • Assists the Academic Services Department in student scheduling for incoming freshman students.

Qualifications:

  • BA (required); MA, desirable
  • Being Catholic or having a deep understanding of workings and mission of Catholic Schools
  • Knowledge/experience with curricular and extracurricular opportunities in the school
  • 2+ Years’ Experience with enrollment management/admissions and marketing work
  • Previous engagement and collaboration with both staff and Board members
  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office, and CRM software
  • Proven writing skills
  • Occasional hours in the evening and weekends for special functions and modified hours in the summer is required
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Undergoing a FDLE Level 2 background check
